In this 1-day workshop designed for the whole family, you will get your hands deep in seeds while learning the basics of seed saving. Imagine having the ability to preserve seeds and grow your favorite fruits, vegetables, grains, pulses, and more to ensure a sustainable but also tasty source of food for our collective future.

Shannon Francis, Executive Director, and Shaina Gonzales, Interim Executive Director for Spirit of the Sun, will facilitate this workshop and guide you through the process of selecting, harvesting, and storing seeds, as well as provide tips on how to maintain seed viability. This workshop is perfect for the family interested in sustainable agriculture and self-sufficiency.

It is recommended that you dress for indoor and outdoor activities, wear closed-toed shoes, bring a refillable water bottle, bring a re-useable mug, and bring any specific snacks necessary for your nutrition plan. Water, snacks, and tea will also be made available. Lunch will be provided!
